Happy Leap Year

I had to post something today as it is such a special day.

My lovely friend Nicki bought me this jewellery hanger some time ago.  We both had intentions of altering them one day - Nicki has but mine was left naked waiting for the right embellishments.  Beautiful flowers from Manor House Creations was just what it needed!
I hot-glued the flowers and leaves into place as I find this is the only way for items to stay put.  I used some of my all-time favourite flowers for the occasion.
It's a great idea to mix in some ribbons netting in order to show them at their best.

Thanks for popping in.  Happy Leap Year!

Busy Half Term

We had a really busy half term this week.  Considering the weather is a little chilly and damp we've got out and about a lot.  We saw the Muppet movie, Lauren went horse riding for her birthday treat, bowling, Conkers (outdoor adventure park), Jacob went Paintballing and finally our crop was yesterday.  Phew!  So that is my excuse for no post until now :)

So whilst I have some great new stories to scrap, I'll leave you with a story from last year which I never got around to sharing.
We met up with our old friends last summer.  It has been ages since we hooked up but it was like we were never separated.  DH went to school with these guys, but I met the girls when I was still a teenager (crikey, that sounds like a very long time ago).

I love the fact that you can just pick up where you left off with them.  The kids had fun getting to know one another but that's a different story.

The papers and stickers are all October Afternoon 5 & Dime - just fantastic colours and patterns as always. Circles have always been my thing, but I'm loving these circles.  Sketch courtesy of the wonderful Pagemaps.

Pretty things

I recently discovered the Bonjour collection from Kaisercraft. My oh my.  This has to be the prettiest collection I've laid eyes on.

Anyway, I got to play with a few goodies and in no time at all. Voila!

The photo is from our photoshoot with Julie and Jackie.  It was the end of the day so the kids were pretty weary by this point.

It's been a while since I had papers that needed intricate cutting, but it is so worthwhile.  I cut around the tiny climbing flowers and leaves so that the frame could be tucked behind.  I added my favourite tiny envelope which has the cutest die-cut stamp inside.  These die-cuts are from the Sweet Nothings collection.  There are SO MANY die-cuts in there - such great value for money!

A little more cutting and a few more die-cuts for my title.

Well thanks for popping in.  You'll have to wait to see the rest of the projects as I've used them for Manor House Creations.  If you want to nab some for yourself, check out Merly Impressions. Especially look up the Sweet Nothings die-cuts - it is rammed full of gorgeous images.

Brrrr.....

Been super-cold here over the past week or so but as we all complain about the cold here in Britain, my DH has just got back from Berlin where it was -14 during the day and they just get on with it!

I thought I'd share a layout I did over Christmas although seems so far away now.

My DD has started a Nutcracker collection.  Our new annual traditional visit to the Birmingham German Market.  The chap on the right is the latest addition to the family.

Look at this stunning flower - it's Frosted Wild Rose. The flower has its own leaves which look like they've had a touch of frost - simply amazing!

I dusted these flowers off with a little glitter frosting of my own and mixed in some snowflakes and silver wire.  The gorgeous papers are all Cozy Christmas  from The Scrapcake. They have been designed by the super-talented Karola Witczak

Thanks for popping in.  I have been a busy scrapper this past week, so will have lots of projects to share over the next few weeks.

Celebrating Manorhouse Creations

You know me, I do love a celebration cake.  When I came to make one for Manorhouse, I really wanted something dramatic to compliment the stunning flowers.

I imagined that my cake could adorn a table at a venetian masked ball.  Ladies and gentlemen all dressed-up to the nines in stunning ball gowns.
My cherub (from  my Christmas tree) sits on top holding a heart.
I mixed in the flowers with other trinkets - I love the violin decoration.
All the papers are Websters Pages.  All flowers and leaves are Manor House Creations

One of my other favourite elements to the cake are the peacock feathers.  The colours are so brilliant.  I also pull off some of the thin strands and inserted them here and there.

The saxophone is so cool right?!

Well thanks for popping in.  I hope you enjoy your weekend.  Be sure to pop along to the blog for more inspiration from the team.

Crop Class

It is my turn to teach the class this month at our crop. I picked out super-gorgeous products for the class :)
This month's class features the most LUSH products from My Mind's Eye and Jenni Bowlin.

I'm letting those lovely papers and stickers do all the hard work.

I added my own little bits and pieces for more fun without being difficult for the girls to do in class.

So I hope you crop girls enjoy the class.  See you soon.
