Summer Blog Hop

AllyScraps have teamed up with Adorn It to celebrate Summer!

The design team have been really busy cooking up some wonderful projects in celebration of Summer and all things colourful. Check out the AllyScrap Blog for all the gorgeous projects.

I have wanted to create a mini-book in the shape of a beach bag. I've hand drawn a shape and cut it out from chipboard. I've used the gorgeous Girl Friday papers from Cosmo Cricket - I love the pretty colours and patterns.

I just had to have flip-flops. They were hand cut from chipboard - I just love the way the poke out of the top of the bag!

A simple concertina fold holds the pages and covers together. You can add as many pages as you wish using this technique although I only added a few because of time.

I love these Felties from Sassafras!

Well I'm off to work on some more projects!

Hope you'll be back soon.

Fun Weekend

We had our annual weekend crop and it was good humoured and chatty as always. We cropped from 10am on Saturday morning, until midnight and again on sunday 10 to 6pm. So with 22 hours of cropping time, how many layouts do you think I completed?

Bear in mind I did teach a couple of classes, so let's say 16 hours then.

5 layouts? 10 layouts?

Actually, 1 might be closer to the truth!

I did finish off one other. Now you know how very slow I am! Still, I am pleased with the one that I did. LOL.

I've used the Lilian collection from Crate Paper which is really lush.

The flowers were cut from this paper. The stamps are all Inkadoo.

The fab heart is Sassafrass Felties. How darn cute!

Hopefully I'll be a little more productive this week and actually complete something!

Thanks for dropping in.

Purrrfect Projects

Just a quick share of my Purrrfect Project this week for AllyScraps. The challenge this week is paint. Doesn't need to be a lot, just a little paint here and there.

I wanted to frame this photo I took recently of DS. The Orbits collection from Crate Paper is just so much fun, but I used the flip side so that I could focus on the photo.

Photobucket

I've painted the background and stamped with bubble-wrap as well as painting the cogs.

Perhaps you'll join us over at AllyScraps - you'll be entered into the monthly prize draw. Find all the details here

Well, I'm off to pack for the weekend crop. Thanks for dropping by.

Scrapping Weekend

We'll be scrapping all weekend and I can't wait! The girls at our club are all so friendly and such good fun. In fact, for Nicki and I we probably won't get any scrapping done at all because we'll be teaching some classes, but the good company is enough.

So, as I've been working on some Q-T projects which I can't share, I thought I'd share the classes I've done for the weekend.

Look, I know it's a circle and that I shall probably have a circluar headstone when I pop off from this mortal coil, but I love it!

The class was going to be a simple bit of paper-piecing which I love. Then I got a bit carried away with the gorgeous SU! Life's a Breeze stamps.

Just take a look at those fish! The inks are just brilliant and so easy to use.

I've tried to resist in the past, but have to say I'm hooked (no pun intended).

I'll try to share the other class and make and take before the weekend. I'll also share my Purrrfect Project for AllyScraps too. Like buses, they come in 3's.

Have a great day.

Summer where are you?

With Summer supposedly in full swing, it's time to brighten up our albums with gorgeous prints of long hot summers (well I can dream can't I).

Bo Bunny's Love Shack line has beautiful, rich colours without being over-powering.

Photobucket

I used Funky as my base and made the most of the frame pattern by cutting and peeling away one corner.
Photobucket

To draw attention to the photos, I've layered Shake and the stunning Party papers which I've edged with a lace punch.
Photobucket

The stunning flowers come in a brilliant range of colours and sizes. I've 'frosted' them using my glitter technique (see previous post) but adding buttons and brads.
Photobucket

I've tucked in a tiny envelope and note to hold the journalling.

Thanks for stopping by.

Robot Wars!

I have to admit to being a little partial to a cute robot or two. When I saw these papers from Kaisercrafts they fitted the bill perfectly.

Jacob wanted to go to Drayton Manor for his birthday so he took his best buddy from school along with him.

I'm no roller-coaster fan - but these guys did the LOT! I couldn't even contemplate doing some of the rides they did.

I love all the cogs which took ages to cut out! I just wish I had a cog-die. If Mr Sizzix or Mrs Quickutz are listening - please make me a die!

I'm working on Teacher's scrapbooks and some other secret projects at the moment so I'm not going to have much to share. I'll have to see if I can sneak in a small project in between. Thanks for stopping by.

October Afternoon

Yes, it did feel like that this week - hardly very Summer weather, but I'm talking paper. October Afternoon are still one of my favourite manufacturers and I just love the Ducks in a Row line. The only problem I had was actually cutting the paper - it was just too nice! So I stuck with as few papers as possible so I can stoke them some more.

I'm not normally a clean-lines, simple scrapper, but I think that this just cried out to be delicate and unfussy.

It's a shame the the October weather did nothing for good photography - I really must sort that out.

Anyway, I hope you have a lovely weekend - we have a family weekend planned - just kicking-back and hanging out together.
Have fun and thanks for stopping by.

Webster's Pages

I love the new papers from Webster's Pages I got from AllyScraps - they're just so darn pretty - almost too good to use.

We recently celebrated DS birthday and ended up in the park because it was such a hot night. DD got stuck at the top of the see-saw and had to wait for her brother to let her down! She was just so happy!

Photobucket

I love Ingvild Bolme's style (she is just so awesome). I've tried to layer and layer papers not quite as successfully as she does, but I just love how this has turned out.

Photobucket

Layering paper and silk flowers gives such a cool effect.

Photobucket

The sweet fairie deserved a bit of sparkle.

Photobucket

I've frosted my flowers in my usual way (still my favourite technique currently).

Photobucket

The quote says: Flowers and Children bloom when showered with love - Anais Nin.

How true.

I still have a few new projects left to share, but I'll save those for another night!

Thanks for dropping by.

Back from flu

Bet you'd thought I'd disappeared!

Went down with flu last week - probably swine flu as there is a pandemic. Never had flu before and I'm not in a hurry to get it again! It really knocked me off my feet. I'm definately better now but still feel groggy around the edges.

So I've lost almost a week of everything which is a shame.

Just when my mojo had made an appearance too. I'd made a few LO's which I was really pleased with (doesn't happen often). I'll get them photographed and share later this week.

So I'm going to share a couple of completed projects from a few weeks back.

I'm so taken with these Doodlebug papers from AllyScraps (you may have already noticed). They are just so cheerful and SUMMER that I need more!

The cute little stickers are just adorable - most are frosted with glitter.

Unfortunately, my camera isn't very keen on bright pinks so it struggled to get a good balance of colours - it does look even more yummy IRL.

Well I'm off to catch up on some rest. Hope you'll come again soon!
