Purrrfect Projects - Congratulations!

Rae and I host a project challenge over at AllyScraps every fortnight.

This week's challenge is Congratulations!

My DS is taking his first guitar exam in a couple of weeks time. I'm really hoping that he passes.

Photobucket

I've made a pennant and card to mark the occasion using Scrap Within Reach. The simple to make pennant was layered with the patterned paper scraps and chipboard letters.

The cool guitar is from SimonSaysStamp. Just the perfect accent.

Photobucket

The matching card also features an image from Sugar Nellie.

Photobucket

Notice the denim ribbon? Just some old jeans torn up!

I've also gone wild and decorated the inside of the card too.

Photobucket

There are more samples to be found on the AllyScraps Blog and I hope you'll join in the fun at AllyScraps.

Thanks for stopping by

Going in Round in Circles

You may already know this, but for those of you who don't, I have a thing about circles. I seem to be going round in circles particularly recently.

I did this layout for Allyscraps a few weeks ago when my circle thing was at its peak. Jacob may not look ecstatic - I think he's fed up of the camera!

Scrap Within Reach is a new company for AllyScraps. The papers are gorgeous - a good double-sided cardstock weight (just my type).

I had plenty left over so I've used it for this week's Purrrfect Projects which goes live tomorrow. You can have a sneaky peak being as you're here!

Photobucket

There are two parts to my project this week. One of them uses a Sugar Nellie stamp (they haven't been out for a long time).

Photobucket

Check back tomorrow at the Allyscraps blog for the full monty!

Just Magnolia - Get In Shape

Just Magnolia challenge this week is making a shaped card. I have recently been a guest designer for Bella Blvd and have plenty of paper snips that I can't part with. I thought these would be perfect for a fancy cupcake card.

The cupcake is paper folded into a concertina topped with pretty papers and Stickles. Tilda sits in front, perched on top of the card so the whole thing is a wiggly shape. The die-cut sticker is also Bella Blvd.

Finally managed to upload a picture of Flopsy - the Tilda bunny I've made for Lauren. She is sitting pride of place on her bed at the moment, but I don't expect it to last.

First time I've made a soft toy.

I just love the ribbon I used for the braces from 'East of Inda'. I am currently finishing off a sewing roll at the moment. I could really quite get into this!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge

The challenge for this week was to use a sketch. Check out the post here.

I of course, have used a Tilda image. I love the ones with the bows in their hair.

The Calendar stamp is October Afternoon. The journal page is Making Memories. Background paper - SEI.

I have also been playing Tilda of another sort this weekend. I've hoarded several of her sewing books with a promise to make things from them. I've finally taken the plunge!

I started off with this bag. I fell in love with the material some time ago which was almost too precious to cut. Not bad for my first quilted project. It's a lot different from things I used to sew!

I think blogger has had enough now. It won't let me upload any more photos at the moment. Ho Hum! We'll try again tomorrow.

Adding a little Sugar

You may have noticed that I have gone crazy with the glitter recently. I've have 'sugared' everything from brads to flowers. I thought I'd share this fun technique with you so you can add a little sugar to your life.

Supplies: I use a Snow Writer which is a thick white paste - this works better than glue as the texture and colour will give that extra bling to your project. Glitter - sparkly white works the best and is the most versatile.

Add the 'snow' to your flower using a stick (the coffee stirers work a treat!) I keep to the centre and don't be too neat - a little mess looks much more funky.

Add your glitter and allow to dry.

Don't forget to dip your big brad in the snow and glitter.

VOILA! Gorgeous blooms. You can layer and mix paper and silk blooms together for a great look.

I've had fun playing with papers from We R Memory Keepers this month. These gorgeous papers and flowers are just right for all sorts of occasions.

I hope you'll try this out for yourself. I can't wait to see the results!

Just Magnolia Week 5

Just Magnolia challenge this week is a sketch.

I love the sketch - it's quite like a lot of cards I do so I felt right at home.

The papers are MME, WRMK and Imaginisce. Tilda is coloured in with watercolour pencils.

These challenges are a great way of getting something done when you don't need to do anything!

Skipping Along

I have played with the very gorgeous Skipping Along papers from Pebbles Inc this week. Not really had any papers from them before but these were drop-dead gorgeous. I love the cool colour combo and graphic nature.

I went wild and added a whole bunch of brads to give it a little kick.

Birgit Koopsen is a fabulous artist in the Netherlands. She always has lovely projects which are bright and cheerful on her blog. She is giving some blog candy away if you're quick! Take a look here.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Has gone weekly. This week the theme is One for the boys.

I had dug out some tins the other day which would be great for the kids to store their nick-nacks in. They always have little treasures and odd bits they need to keep safe.

I decorated this one last night for Jacob - thought he'd appreciate the guitar and plectrum!

Papers and die-cuts are Crate Paper.

The stamp is 7 Gypsies I think.

Gotta dash. TFL!

Just Magnolia Week 4

Just Magnolia challenge this week is In Stitches.

I love the Tilda's lying down - reminds me of how the kids like to watch TV.

The papers are Magenta - left over from my workshop this weekend. I love the cute little bird nests.

I have realised after editing that my zipper pull has fallen off! I find things just don't want to stick to that glittery cardstock.

Also, I'll share a sneak peak of tomorrow Purrfect Project at AllyScraps.

Pop over to AllyScraps tomorrow where you'll be able to see all the Purrfect Projects! The girls have some beautiful creations to share as always.

Turtles & Trees

What's that all about?

The new Turtles and Trees line from My Little Shoebox might sound a little odd, but it is very cute.

It's also a very activity on the photos. We'd gone to a summer fete last year - very small affair. However the finale is an egg-throwing contest.

You throw an egg to your partner then you all take a step back.

You continue on until your egg goes splat. Last one in wins. A very egg-citing game!

Has nothing to do with turtles or trees. :)

Thanks for stopping in.

Scrapbook Sisters

Gave me a lovely limited edition kit to play with. It featured Fancy Pants Delight. I just love this range - some of my favourite colour combos.

Anyway, I only had a few days to get the projects done so here is what I came up with.

You know I have a thing for circles but I kind of went circle mad! I just needed to layer circle upon circle to try and get it out of my system!

I love this layout. Simple but I love it all the same.

I've continued slightly with circles. I do like the way the masked circles turned out.

I also love the grass stamp. This will be so useful for so many things.

Lastly, I made a mini-album. Due to the time constraints, I haven't put any photos, but it would be great to have something ready for the summer.

The front cover is the FP acetate, the inside cover is masked circles. I really must do that again because it turned out great!

Well that's all folks. Thanks for stopping in.

End of a busy week

Tomorrow we start again! Phew! A busy week all in all.

We had a great time at the on-line crop yesterday over at AllyScraps. There were plent of challenges and games.

Here is my challenge: Create a project using at least 4 manufacturers and customise an item to make it your own. I created this layout using 6 manufacturers:

Photobucket

I've customised my flowers with snow and glitter which is one of my favourite techniques currently. The amount of times I go to school all glittery!

I have scraplifted the leaves idea from Penny whom I met at Skrapztacular last week. You can see her layout on her blog, but the photo does not do it justice.

The really good news is that you have until midnight next Sunday, 17th May to enter into mine or any of the challenges. There is a fabulous Bo Bunny word book as a prize. WOO HOO!

Check out all the challenges here. I hope you'll play along. I know I will.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Magnolia: Week 3

Seems I'm late with posting my card for the challenge, but hey, it's just for fun.

The challenge is a sketch.

I've borrowed Nicki's stamps for this one as mine are on loan at the moment. I think it's Edwin.

Makes a great change to do a boy card.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge 3

The latest challenge over at Simon Says Stamp is a recipe.

2x Patterned papers
3x Buttons
1x Ribbon

I took this to mean I could use other stuff too - I hope that isn't cheating!

I love this Tilda - she sits so prettily. I told you I can do colours other than pink :)

As you can see I think flowers don't count!

Great challenge!

Read on for the Just Magnolia challenge.

Lots to share

I have been busy this week so I have lots to share. I'll have to split them up though because some are for challenges.

Firstly, only one more sleep to the AllyScraps crop tomorrow. WOO HOO! My hour starts at 8pm GMT - here is a little peak at my challenge. It is one of my most favourite layouts for a long time, so I hope you join in.

Photobucket

I will also be hosting a real fun game which includes a prize-giveaway. In fact, the entire team will be giving away prizes all evening - much better than what's planned on TV!

Read on for my challenge entries.

Happy May!

I know I'm a little late with it but Happy May Day anyway.

I did two classes at the Skrapz retreat yesterday. BIG {{WAVES}} to everyone there! All the ladies were just so lovely - a very happy little band of scrappers. The first class centred around the Buzz & Bloom chipboard street. How gorgeous!

The second class featured the pop out journal and photo card as well as making some of my favourite flowers. Lots of fun and glitter everywhere.

Thanks to Caroline and Ann for hosting such a fabulous retreat. There is another one in November which I would highly recommend if you want to get away in some very comfortable surroundings. Check out Skrapz for more info.

The rest of my projects are also up at Bella Blvd this week too. I love this layout I did using the Celebrate line. The colours are so delightful that I couldn't resist with the bunting (I am a little partial).

Check out the blog post here for all the info.

For my last project I created a mini-album. I hand-cut the covers and pages using a template that I have. I've mixed all the lines that I received for this one. I even got to scrap some more of those Disney photos. Only another 445 to go!!

There are a ton of photos of the book on the Bella Blvd blog plus photos of my scrap space. It's never looked so tidy.
