Simon Says Challenge

I know there are lots of challenge blogs around, but they are a great way of keeping you on your toes. Sometimes it's tricky trying to participate in everything, but it's certainly lots easier if there is candy involved.

I'm on the Winter DT for Simon Says Stamp! Blog and they are hosting a new challenge blog starting on 1st April. There are stamps for the winners (what could be better than that?!)

So pop along to find out more at Simon Says Challenge.

In the meantime, seems like a good idea I'll leave you with a Doggie Bag I did for the main blog using the Best of Friends Stamps.

Hope to catch you soon!

Magnolia Vs Stampavie

I have some gorgeous Magnolia stamps in my possession. I have no idea how they got there honest! :) They are such a dream to colour in which is probably why they are just so popular.

I've never taken part in a card challenge before, but who can resist the fabulous Magnolia Vs Stampavie challenge blog? The inspiration on hand from their DT is enough to make any girl go out and buy a whole bunch.

So here is my take on the Shape Challenge this week.

Thanks for all the inspiration girls!

Quick Share

Up to my eyeballs at the moment with stuff for school, so just a quick share today.

My love for My Mind's Eye continues this week with more Penny Lane. I couldn't help but fall in love with the die-cut paper. I have some even prettier paper waiting to be used but I can't bear to cut it up just yet.

Take a look at the glittery swirls. These were a doddle to do and so much fun.

I've used these double-sided stickers from Doodlebug. So clever and so lush! There are loads in the pack so you'll be seeing a lot more of them!

I also did a card on behalf of Kay this week. She was snowed under with cards so I tried to help her out. I did get to use my favourite stamp at the moment.

The cute image is a Magnolia stamp.

Well I hope to be back soon with other projects before we break up for Easter.

Thanks for dropping in.

Cardmaking Workshop

I have had a lot of fun recently making cards, mainly because I get to play with my stamps and pencils.

As I started in scrapbooking, cardmaking has been somewhat of a challenge! But it is so satisfying.

We'll be running a series of workshops here, hopefully introducing new people to this lovely craft. We'll be learning new techniques, brushing up our skills on existing techniques too.

We are starting off with a very cute card which has a surprise in store. Toadily Happy features some cute frogs from Penny Black.

We'll show you how to handpaint using watercolour pencils or inks (depending on your preference).

Pull the tag on the front of the card and out pops two more frogs!

How cute are these guys?!

If you'd like to find out more, pop along to www.Whathousework.co.uk for full information. The workshop runs on Wednesday, 1st April, 9.30 to 11.30am and costs just £10 including all your materials and refreshments.

Check back later for other projects coming soon.

Thanks for dropping in

Cardmaking Workshop

18 March, 2009

We've been fortunate enough to have some snow here recently (a real novelty). I had loads of lovely photos to scrap and I had some gorgeous Penny Lane from My Mind's Eye. Those of you that know me, know how much I adore MME. The new papers are no exception. They are simply gorgeous IRL.

The papers were so pretty, I had a hard time cutting them - you know how it goes! I cut out some of the circular flowers from Graceful Circles paper and arranged them with some circle frames.

I used a gorgeous chipboard button from Jenni Bowlin. How cute it that?!

By layering the die cut frame behind my photo, I was able to place my cute little winter characters as a focus.

The stamps create beautiful, crisp images, which I've coloured in with watercolour pencils, before cutting them out. Add a little snow and glitter, they make perfect winter friends!

I've also been playing at making cards. LOL. I say play because it takes me an age to make a card. Still practise makes perfect.

Here's a couple to share with you using Magnolia Stamps.

My photos are not the best unfortuantely - still haven't quite mastered taking a decent photo of projects.

The colouring on this one was great for me - just wish the photography showed it up well.

Anyway thanks for dropping in.

Quick share and a Toot

Just wanted to share a project that's up at Scrapbook Sisters. More snow pictures but on a completely different colour palette from the norm. We R Memory Keeps White Out is a gorgeous range of bright, funky colours and the cutest of birdies.

I'm loving these paper flowers lately (you may have gathered that). I've added a little snow and glitter for extra sparkle.

The bird house is cut from paper and topped with a chipboard corner and hung from waxed string.

I've got more to share but that can wait until later this week.

I got a toot on Craft Gossip as blog of the week! Thanks Francine - it was really kind of you to mention me.

Also, Craft Critique are celebrating their birthday with a give away. Pop in and find out more.

Lastly, Cathy has some HOT new products in the store which are just gorgeous! Pop in here and have a look - but mind your wallet!

TFL!

Look, less than 2 weeks!

I am trying to post more often, but time still eludes me.

Just a quick share of some things I've managed to photograph. I'm still pants at taking a decent shot of LO's but hey, what can I say?

This quick LO was of DS enjoying the snow recently. He bunked off work for a couple of hours to join us in the park. (I hope his boss isn't reading). He did make up for it later - honest!

I love the cute little monsters from October Afternoon's Night Light.

A couple of cards for SimonSaysStamp.

The cute little cats and dogs are from the Cats and Dogs are the Best of Friends st.

I do have more cards when I photographed them.

Be back Soon. Thanks for popping in!
