Happy Mother's Day

Although I think of my Mother every day, it is especially nice to have a special day to remember her. Hope she is looking down on me and smiling.

Wow loads to catch up on. Have been really busy with LO's but have not had chance to upload them so here goes (for what it's worth).

Lauren is growing up far too fast. She'll be starting at Jacob's nursery next month - wow where did the time go?

Surprise surpise, we finally got a family photo. We went to my friend's christening last week. Lauren wore a beautiful dress, but would she have her photo taken? Kids just ran off every time the camera came out!

I did this layout for Kirsty's challenge Journalling reads:
I have had these hands for 41 years. They have done many things in that time. They have played and painted. They have typed and written computer programs. They have cleaned and cooked. They have wiped away tears and cheered with joy.
Yes they have done many things I can be proud of. But the most important thing they have done, they have held you safe.

I was inspired by Shimelle in this month's Scrapbook Inspirations to document your favourite things each year using the style you currently like. This is definately now for me. BTW, I got SI this month because I'm in it!!! My very first picture in a magazine. Jacob was gobsmacked when I showed it to him. I must try harder to get in another copy preferably featuring him!
Another one of Lauren purely because Jacob runs away.

Some people get stuck in the 70's. Whilst others get stuck in a rut. I've got stuck on flowers, buttons and ribbon!

I've had a blast today with Audrey - going shopping for anything we could find in Birmingham's Rag Market. Wow. We picked up some great laces, embroidery thingys can't wait to use them. Unfortunately that won't be tonight for me. boo hoo.

Anyway, a couple of layouts from the last few days (I did 2 on Sunday - world record).
This one of Jacob is from the weekend (look at that, lived and scrapped all in the same weekend). Just lovin that cardboard and stars thing I have going on. I know it's a bit the same ol same ol but I love it.

Poor Lolli. She just doesn't like sitting down to eat unless she is starving. But that's the magic of Disney. I have been blackmailing her into eating up so that she can grow for when we go to Disney. She does need to be 106cm, but she's only 96cm now. I think 10cm is a bit of a tall order for May!

It's raining. It's pouring.

I don't do rain. I have never liked it and don't see the attraction. We have so far made muffins today, played kerplunk and we are at a loose end.

Still we had a great day yesterday at Bourton on the Water. It was really sunny except for when I got my camera out. We did the model village although I thought it was a rip-off - £8.50 for the 3 of us (Lolli was free). It only occupies about 1/2 hour. Still wasn't as bad as lunch. £18 for 3 meals and 2 fruit shoots. ouch!

If you ever go to Bourton - which is worth while, bring your own food!

We did get some lovely photos though (always at the back of my mind).

This is an old piccie of Jacob - told you I'd run out of current photos.
I love using old cardboard on layouts - adds a bit of free texture. I've stamped on it using some of my new stamps and used paint for the title. I must get better at collage if it kills me! Still need to find somewhere to put some journalling though.

Still got my cravings going on although I think I might be over the worst. As you can see from the evidence in my next few layouts, my love of flowers, buttons and ribbon has not yet diminished.

Did this LO at our local crop. Of course I had already got papers sorted out for it but still had to buy some from scrapajack

Pictures of Lolli on her first ever sledge ride at the park. She was a bit anxious to begin with but she took to it like a duck to water!

This may sound ridiculous but I've run out of current photos to scrap. I either need to a) take the kids out to do something or b) take better photos in the first place.

So I am rooting around through old photos now before I started scrapping. Great idea, but I really wanted to do a proper album of Jacob when he was young. I have hundreds of photos (far more than Lolli), but they require proper attention.

Anyway this is one from 03 based on a Pencil lines/ sketch (21). I've only done one of these before, but it was great. You can see that Teresa's star die has come in handy for all that felt I bought.

Again another old picture of Lolli but I've used it to document the fact she calls pig tails, pink tails - cute! I have created a monster though. I always like to tie her hair up but now she insists on 'Barbie' hair (plaits) or pink tails. She can be a very determined little girl - wonder where she gets that from?

When Jacob and I were driving to a charity shop the other day to buy buttons, there was a big rainbow. We were chatting and I asked if he knew where they came from. Now he is bright, so I am expecting an answer along the lines of the light passing through the rain but instead I get this whole elaborate story about the wind, rain and sun meeting at the north pole.

See that blossom thing going on there? Seems to be going strong doesn't it?
